Welcome, I’m cypress howell.
I’m the heart behind You & Herbs, a healing-centered space rooted in mindfulness, self-reconnection, spiritual wellness, and holistic wellbeing. Through Heart Circles, wellness workshops, and intentional community gatherings, I create spaces that are gentle, reflective, nurturing, and empowering for both adults and children.
My work weaves together herbal education, mindfulness practices, positive affirmations, and reflective exercises that support people in reconnecting with themselves and nurturing the whole self: mind, body, and spirit. Whether sharing tea in community, guiding reflective practices, or teaching mindful living tools, my intention is always to help others cultivate greater self-awareness, peace, joy, and harmony within themselves and their relationships.
While herbs remain an important part of my work, they are approached as supportive allies within a larger journey of healing, grounding, and intentional living. My herbal perspective is integrative and informed primarily by Traditional African Medicine, Western herbalism, and Ayurveda. My Ayurvedic studies through Sampoorna College of Ayurveda & Vedic Studies and the teachings of Dr. Vasant Lad have included foundational studies in constitutional assessment, pulse reading, marma therapy principles, and dietary considerations as they relate to balance and overall wellbeing. Alongside this, my African and Western herbalism background grounds my work in accessible, plant-centered education rooted in relationship, mindfulness, and care.
My work is also informed by years of experience within conventional healthcare, having previously worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Medical Assistant. This allopathic background shapes my holistic approach with discernment and responsibility. I am currently continuing my education through clinical herbal studies, further deepening my understanding while remaining committed to ethical, non-clinical community care.
At the core of everything I do is the belief that wellness is not something we must search for outside of ourselves, but a remembering of what already lives within. I believe each person carries an innate capacity for healing, wisdom, peace, and joy. My role is to hold supportive spaces where people can slow down, reconnect inward, and gently return home to themselves.
Alongside my workshops and wellness sessions, I’ve created bilingual affirmation cards for kids, available through Karuna Press, a mindful tool designed to nurture positive thinking, emotional wellness, and self-love in both English and Spanish.
